Kale and Sausage Sheppards Pie


4 sausages
6 potatoes, peeled, cubed and boiled
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups steamed shredded kale
2 cups shredded cheddar or other strong flavoured cheese
pepper, nutmeg and cayenne to taste



Remove casing from sausages or alternatively you can spice ground turkey or pork to taste like sausage. Brown with chopped onions at medium heat, drain any excess fat. Add kale and cook until heated through. Add pepper and nutmeg to taste. Let cool slightly.

Mash potatoes and top the meat and kale mixture with them. Sprinkle on the cheddar and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes till the cheese is melted and slightly browned
